You do not need to approach every conversation in the same way. On Justalk.cc, the match room offers Video, Audio and Text. Pick a mode before starting a match.

Text chat with strangers

Choose Text when you want to type. A text-only chat does not need your camera, and you can consider a question before sending your next line. It is a useful starting point when the room around you is noisy or you prefer a quieter introduction.

A random text match introduces someone you have not chosen beforehand. Keep your address, passwords and payment information private. The same privacy habits matter even when your face is off screen.

Voice chat with the camera off

Choose Audio for microphone-only conversation. You can hear a tone of voice without being on camera. Your browser may ask for microphone access, so check the selected device and use headphones if your speaker causes echo.

Video chat when you want to see a reaction

Choose Video for a face-to-face conversation. Camera and microphone access are needed when the video flow requests them. A light in front of you and a steady place for your phone make it easier to see and hear each other.

Justalk.cc opens the matching flow in the browser. It is a social conversation with a new person, so prepare an opening question instead of a meeting agenda.

Which mode needs which device?

• Text uses typed messages. A camera or microphone is not needed for the text conversation.
• Audio uses your microphone. You can leave your camera off.
• Video uses your camera and microphone when you grant access.

Choosing another mode

Choose the mode on the match-room screen before you start. To try another kind of introduction, return to that screen and select another mode. The preview on the homepage explains the choices and does not start a connection.

Check availability and charges before continuing

The matching screen shows the available free match count where applicable. Some actions can require coins. Review the amount displayed in the app before accepting a paid action, and follow any sign-in prompt that appears.

For a first question, try the conversation starter field note. You can end a conversation whenever you need to.
